The Chalice Dancers are in their 22nd year at PBUUC, under the creative choreographic direction of our Director of Chalice Dance, Sharon Werth. Sharon continues to envision ways of enhancing worship and church life through liturgical dance. Members of the Choir, musicians from our congregation and other dancers join-in to create and present this special form of spiritual expression.
Our Chalice Dance troupe expands and redefines the liturgical dance tradition for the Unitarian Universalist faith and the 21st century. In addition to performing to music, the dancers may act out stories, especially for youth-oriented services. The troupe has performed at neighboring UU churches and for our local UUA Racial Justice Conference.
Like the Choir, the Chalice Dancers offer a chance to commission a dance as a fund-raising item in the PBUUC Annual Congregational Auction.
If you are interested in expressing your spirituality through movement, and would like to join the Chalice Dancers, please contact Sharon for more information.
