Sunday Service Ushers
Our congregation is known for its hospitality and the Ushers help make it happen with their friendly welcome as people enter the sanctuary from the foyer. Ushers give copies of the Order of Service (regular or large-print) and assist people who may need to borrow a wheelchair, large-print hymnal, or an assistive hearing device. Once the worship service begins, the ushers close the door between the sanctuary and the foyer and encourage latecomers to be seated at designated times during the proceedings.
During the offertory, the ushers pass the collection baskets and count the number of attendees for our congregational records. When the service ends, the ushers reopen the sanctuary doors.
Ushering is a small but vitally important task to ensure the friendliness and smooth flow of our worship services. We hope that you will consider volunteering for this crucial role.
