Since 2006, the women of PBUUC have held an annual day-long retreat at the church to build a sense of shared community and purpose.
The event, funded on a self-supporting basis by modest registration fees, includes a variety of experiential workshops and two communal meals. Past activities have included jewelry making, dancing, journal writing, jigsaw puzzles and "brain gym." Of course, the workshops will differ from year to year, depending on the interests of the women who step forward to lead them.
The PBUUC women's community has no formal leadership, but each year several able women have stepped up to organize the retreat and other activities. Newcomers of all ages are welcome.
