PBUUC has a long history of engaging and robust Religious Education for children and youth. We have published religious education curriculum and were leaders in efforts to include children in worship publishing two intergenerational worship resource books. Three generations of children came through our programs from nursery to Coming of Age to Youth Group and beyond.

COVID dealt a blow to our RE program. Children who were on Zoom all week were not excited to do another hour on Sundays. In addition, when COVID was winding down and other churches were returning to in person RE, we were unable to do so due to our building access being closed due to the failure of the deck. Finally, when our DRE left, we were financially unable to replace her.

But we are not giving up! We look forward to reinstating our RE programming at all levels in our new church home. We will start small, rebuilding a few classes at a time. We hope to be able to employ a part-time Religious Education Coordinator at some time in the future. We know and understand that having a vibrant RE program is vital to the church as a whole, and we intend to get there again.
