Board News – 6/28/24

Members and Friends of Paint Branch,

The 2024 Annual Congregation Meeting, last Sunday, was well-attended and productive. If you haven’t read the meeting documents, you can do so here.

Board Co-Vice Chair Abby Crowley and our treasurer, Liz Citrin, presented the proposed 2024-25 budget. The church is in its best financial shape in years. Rev. Ann Kadlecek reflected on her three years with Paint Branch, including our shared developmental ministry, and bid us a fond farewell. Board Co-Vice Chair Tricia Most talked about the mission discernment groups and our determination to continue the process with the help of our new minister, Rev. Anthony Jenkins. During my Year in Review, I shared my optimism and enthusiasm for our church’s future. Our discussions as a congregation were robust and informative.

The candidates for the Board of Trustees, the Nominating Committee and the Legacy Fund were presented. The voting was held via ElectionBuddy beginning Sunday evening and continued until Tuesday at 6 PM. Fifty-five ballots were cast, which represents 47% of the 117 members eligible to vote. Below are the election results.  Click here for a pdf copy:

In addition, there were two ballot questions:

Resolution to Amend the Article of Incorporation: Yes (100%) (54 votes cast)

Approval of 2023 Minutes: Yes (98.18%) (51 votes; 4 abstentions)

Thanks to all who have agreed to serve our church in these important positions. Thanks to all who voted.  Thanks to Patty Daukantas for running the election!

See you in church!

All the best,
Leo
Board Chair
