Paint Branch is participating with local UU congregations marching together in the WorldPrideDC Parade on Saturday, June 7, as an official, registered parade contingent. The Pride Parade celebrates pride in civil rights and freedom in the District-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) Area and across the nation. Last year, 11 of 21 local UU Churches marched in the Pride Parade. Will you join us for the World Pride Parade this year? RSVP to Eric Eldritch at LGBTQ@paintbranch.org. Give your name, phone number, and any transportation or accommodation needs. Preregistration is required.
We will walk together carrying a variety of UU banners showing our support for social justice for the LGBTQIA+ Community.

PBUUC’s congregation-wide LGBTQIA+ project, aka Love Plus, is coordinating Paint Branch’s participation in the Parade. If you are interested in walking with the UU contingent in the parade, you MUST preregister through Paint Branch.
We are recruiting Paint Branchers to walk in the World Pride Parade and/or to meet at New Deal Café in Old Greenbelt (details forthcoming).
Paint Branchers can park and gather at the Greenbelt Metro Station or plan to meet up in other places and travel together.
This year, the parade travels down 14th Street in DC, starting at U Street NW and ends just past D Street NW near the Old Post Office Pavilion. We will gather at 1 pm at the starting place and walk two miles in about 2 hours. You can walk all or part of the route.
Security: The organizers of WorldPrideDC have an official department coordinating with local police and trained volunteers for collecting situational awareness and providing a network of safety information at all events.
