The United States has a shameful history of using religion as an excuse to discriminate against people on the basis of race. Today we see that same pattern of religion-based discrimination not only continue in subtle and not-so-subtle ways towards black and brown communities, but also being applied to members of the LGBTQ community and others. Rachel Laser, president and CEO of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, will explain why we must face and dismantle both white privilege and Christian privilege before we can achieve our country`s core ideals of religious freedom and equality for all.
