Rise Up for Peace and Justice

with Worship Associate Ebony Contreras
When Unitarian Juliet Ward Howe issued her Mother’s Day Proclamation in 1870, she saw it as a day of peace to honor and support mothers who lost husbands and sons during the Civil War. Today, we don’t often connect Mother’s Day with working for peace and justice. Yet this seems like the moment to return Mother’s Day to its roots and rededicate ourselves to creating a peaceful, fair and just world for all.
